Brown Plastic grips on BYF?
Sorry if dumb question, im having a hard time finding a list of what luger brown plastic grips would be "correct" on with the search function. Can someone steer me onto a link or right direction. I aquired a BYF luger on a trade and it has Brown plastic/ bakelite grips, it appears to be all matching with two matching mags, and a swiss(?) three crown stamped holster.
any help would be greatly appreciated |
BYF 41 or 42? Pics? Are these grips the E. German VOPO or bullseye grips? Or are they the type you find on Krieghoffs?
Thanks |
Photos, photos, photos. Please.

ok so I met my buddy yesterday after work to do the trade and it turned out to not be quite as he described (he just doesnt know enough). Its got a BYF toggle piece but 1938 on the top of the breech. the "11" on the toggle which doesnt match the rest of the gun is X'd out. The barrel has been replaced with a crown over N stamped barrel and mismatched numbers. All the parts match the serial number minus the toggle plate where the maker stamp is, the barrel, and the side plate, plus the original question on the grips. It has a really strange stamp on the left side forward of the trigger guard.
I still traded him but a lesser value trade as its in nice condition and I want it as a shooter, the bore is near mint. I traded about 600 dollar value worth for this gun. I have pics but gotta figure out how to link them, will have them up in a few minutes. My questions now are pretty much what do I have, stamps, holster, grips etc. I know its not valuable just gonna be a shooter. |

Swedish Lahti holster(3 crowns), East German VOPO grips, the stamp on the trigger guard is a VOPO stamp. You have an EG rebuilt Luger.

What you have is a $600 shooter. Very nice one too. And there are collectors who are beginning to value the later VOPO stuff.
