Question about P-08 cleaning rod authenticity

I have acquired a 9 1/2" long cleaning rod that is made out of steel with an aluminium handle that has an eagle and swastika marking. Supposedly it is a cleaning rod for a Marine 08.

I have tried to research what I have here but could not find anything out about it.

Can someone here please help me?

Welcome aboard and sorry,

This is a fake. The German Eagle stamp that is on it was available from Sarco and Gun Parts Corporation for awhile, until collectors complained that it was showing up all over the place.

Here is a link to what a real one should look like. The rod goes clean through the handle and the handles should swivel to allow the rod to follow the barrel grooves.

Thanks guys,

that is what I suspected but it's good I have only $25 in it.

Well the good news is that it can be used as a cleaning rod, so you get some value for your $25 :)!
