Grip screw stamp
 

As i was taking off the grips to my new Luger, one of the grip screws broke. Ok, it's a shooter, and I'm putting replacement grips on it anyway to preserve the originals, but I noticed that the screws have a stamp on them. I cannot get my camera to zoom in for a legible photo but the stamp is an eagle with drooping wings above what looks like a numeral 6 or perhaps a letter "G".
My question is: 1.) does the stamp designate manufacturer, and Is it possible to find another with the same stamping?
I have installed brass grip screws for the new grips but would like to try to find a similarly stamped twin to the remaining original. Thanks in advance!

If the grip screws have a stamp on them, they are of Erfurt arsenal manufacture... You can probably get a similar screw from several sources (try Lugerdoc here on the forum). But since your pistol is not all matching, and not likely all Erfurt, any grip screw with an appropriate finish would be just fine for your Luger...

Probably E/6 stamped grip screws, from Simson & Co., Suhl.

Robert, if you have an E/6 marked Simson grip screw, they are extremely rare. It recently took me over 2 years to locate a replacement for my Simson. Ed was the person that graciously shared one of the very few he has with me.

Ed Tinker is a specialist in Simson Lugers, and I am sure he would gladly supply you with replacement matched screws with the proper Whitworth thread profile for your Luger.

The threads on Luger grip screws are unique, so don't attempt to replace them with anything SAE or Metric.

if it is a simson screw and not a simsonluger, then I would trade you some parts for the simson screw :) as a 'mismatched' part can look funny

It is definitely an eagle over a 6, or a "G" it is so tiny that it is difficult to determine. The pistol IS numbers matching and does have Simson rework stamps and Waffenamt stamp but nowhere can I locate any sort of manufacturer ID on the frame. So, am I to assume that the remaining grip screw is a Simson stamp?? It stands to reason that if the pistol was reworked @Simson, and received a magazine safety, then perhaps it received new grip screws at the same time?

Eagle 6 / simson screw

To tell you if it is correct I would have to know about the rest of the gun. It might have a eagle 33 or eagle 6 barrel and that would just mean it is a barrel.

An entire rework is not common, but I own one in my collection that started as an early DWM.

eagle 6 screws are very hard to come by, I would not sell one for less than $100 for one

That's just fine...I think the next best would be from an electron microscope... :D
