1916 Erfurt
8 Attachment(s)
Acquired yesterday at a local rural gunshop - 1916 Erfurt serial #6638a, all matching, including one mag, single acceptance stamp, excellent bore (like new), 85%+ bluing, 60% straw, no pitting, very good unchipped grips, relieved sear bar. Probably paid too much ($1500), but have been looking to upgrade my Erfurt. And since I recently sold some items, one should immediately buy something. Comments graciously accepted.

I like it Bill. It's a good looking Luger and if you are proud of it, then you didn't pay too much.
Take care. Neil |
With one matching mag? I think you done good. A nice nearly 100 year old Erfurt.

Bill..I haven't bought enough Erfurts..Been a along time ago but I can remember like yesterday a guy running around the Yuma gun show wanting $650 for a beautiful Erfurt and I passed on it. I still kick myself.
You got yourself a very respectable pistol..Congratulations! |
Mighty nice looking Erfurt. Envy. Envy. Envy. Just kidding! :)

Bill, you have the eye and the touch. Nice pistol.

Gotta love those rural gunshops. That's where I bought my first Luger. I think you did quite well...a 1916 Erfurt in that good of shape and with a matching magazine...Super!

I like it! I like it, yep, I love it!
|
great find
|
Bill, in my opinion 1916 dated Erfurts are typically worst of all Erfurts for the quality of the original finish coming from the arsenal. Yours appears to be one of the finer exceptions to this.
|
I can find no fauly with that Luger. Enjoy!!
|
Kudos on your find, Bill. Say, now, does this mean you'll cull a lesser Erfurt from your herd? Anyway, fine lookin' pistol. I must confess if I found the same sort of deal I'd be all over it!

Bill, another beautiful Luger. Imagine, a Luger from the year of Jutland and the Somme, a gorgeous find indeed. As for the price, I'd be happy to even find a 9mm Luger at any price locally much less the price you paid (which I think is still reasonable given its quality and overall condition).
|
Bill,
I guess you did fine considering that has one matching mag. and the finish is great! Niced addition and I'd love to have it in my collection. Congratulations! Douglas |
the one i just got was 6350 but 1918 dated!
|
1. A beautiful correct Luger almost a century old.
2. Looks to be somewhat more finely finished than a LOT of Erfurts 3. If YOU are satisfied then the price is almost immaterial. The satisfaction of ownership will last long after you have forgotten what you paid for it. SCORE! |
