Any idea what Luger this is?

My New Luger
 

Any Idea what Luger this is and what its worth?

From what I can see it is a 1916 DWM, so made in WW1

Words, descriptions, etc would help for anything not easily seen.

I moved this to the New Collectors area, so it is its own thread, also subscribed you to it :)

If all matching numbers, without matching numbered mag, $1300 to $1500.Add 50% for one matching mag.Approximate value,really need to see more pics.

Thanks for the replys. I;m not really a Luger guy (this is my first and only one) But I do like the way this pistol looks and feels. I shot it for the first time the other day and I wonder if modern ammo is a problem in a wepon that is closing in on 100 years old?

If your Luger is all matching, (except mag) most collectors would not recommend shooting it, as a broken, numbered part will reduce the pistol's value considerably, not to mention damaging a piece of history.

If you must shoot your gun, buy Winchester white box ammo at Walmart or other sources. It has proven to be the most reliable and mild on these old warhorses.

Atually I did go out and put about 50 rounds through it. It fired perfectly no jams or missfeeds

They didn't have B.A.R.s or M-1 Garands, for one reason. And even if they did. They didn't have a bunch of pissed-off Hill Billy Ya-hoos to operate them. ;-)

handguns do not win battles, very little fighting is with in pistol range anyway.

oh yeh i forgot, the germans did have to go up against old slabsides.

Lugers are fine pistols no doubt, thats what this forum is about. Everyone here owns one or two or maybe in some cases a dozen or more. I own a few myself,over my lifetime not sure how many i have owned and sold and traded off, untill recently i just got into lugers and i do enjoy them and this forum and it's members. But ole slabsides just had it's 100th birthday and is far from being retired, any one on here knows i own 1911's and a1' s and all kinds of the variants. And i shoot them, the 1917 and 1918's too. One pistol the luger retired long ago the other is still in the hands of fighting men and women where ever they may be, i am not the only one that feels this way i am sure, i just maybe the only one that speaks it, my regards to all of you, Padre Dan:soapbox:

Lol yeah the 1911, one pistol that could have fought the war on its own.
Still one heck of a pistol.
I shoot alot of .22 since its cheap and have a Sig 1911-22 (same as the GSG with Sig markings) and out of the 5 .22 pistols I have it is my favorite, most reliable and consistently most accurate.(regardless of ammo)
