P08 Trigger Problem Solved!
Thanks to all of you folks I figured there should be no gap between the side plate and slide. If I pretend I have 3 hands I might be able to eliminate the gap thusly: 1. Press and hold the side plate against the slide as hard as possible to eliminate the gap. 2. Press the muzzle toward the back of the pistol. 3. Slide the locking bolt up 90 degrees to lock the side plate in place.
4. Dry fire the pistol over a dozen times without a miss. Problem solved. |
Sounds like something might be slightly out of whack somewhere but I'm glad you got it working. I have read that its not good on a luger to dryfire it w/o a snap cap or spent casing in the chamber but I doubt you hurt anything only doing it a few times.

I have one that some fool used a screwdriver to try and pry off the sideplate.
He did it just enough that there is a tiny gap visible and a teeny "twist" on the tab. It sometimes won't fire. I see the problem but not willing to "untwist" the problem, possibly creating a bigger one. I have dry fired an awful lot of Lugers in 50+ years without a problem. I should stop it someday. |
This gap is repairable... but not recommended for an amateur... Send it to Lugerdoc, Thor or Hugh Clark for repair...
