RGUNS Lugers
Worth the numbers matching/hand select option?
|
ones i have seen have been rather rough, even the matching hand selected

There's an R Guns luger video on YouTube. It looks decent.

The nice thing about them is that the import marking is pretty discreet, you actually have to look to find them on the WWI Luger I have, at least. I didn't pay for matching or hand-pick and got something quite serviceable if a bit low on the finish.
Here's a thread with photos of mine after its arrival: http://forum.lugerforum.com/showthread.php?t=27671 Could I have gotten a better deal from the forum? Probably. However, I was curious and actually quite pleased with what I received in the end. She does shoot rather well even if the Magtech 115gr 9mm I currently use seems to perform a little all over the place versus WWB and Federal (though no doubt some of that is my poor marksmanship). Hope that helps. |
I would think those pistols have their specific position in C&R domain. The key is to leave that import mark alone, don't file it out, and keep the finish as is. In western world, there are plenty of Lugers in great shape, but none of those are associated with the Great Patriotic War, but those are. And keeps the sales receipt, I guess Russian did not issue "capture paper", the receipt will play that role.
