Postwar Tokarev could go crazy as well
 

Back a few days ago, a few posts chatted about "Vietnam bring backs". I just saw an example, Polish Tokarev, this gun really opened my eyes:

That's a real deal.
As far as I know, Vietnam bring back papers are much more scarce than the WWII docs.
Really would love to have one of these, but I'm sure if I would be willing to pay such big bucks.

The starting price of the original auction was not crazy, $800, no reserve. Four or five Tokarev collectors wanted it, and there was only one gun, so.....

they are rare, either smuggled, means you had connections in supply ,the air force or navy. Or you were in position in command to get the paper work done. you could not just pick something up and bring it home.

Those have been scrapped out, rather than cut them up, they went to a scrap dealer, if you look you can see some have been burned. Who knows if any were salvagable.

Most look torched...thus the extensive oxidation.

Tokarevs are going high these days. What's going on.... world is changing....

The extreme ease with which we can buy anything that suits our fancy from anywhere in the world has and is causing the prices of anything remotely considered collectable to skyrocket. Only a few years ago someone selling this gun had only local people to sell it to, in other words--no demand. Now he has the entire world. Just look at the garbage people sell on ebay for big $$$

Hmmm.... ebay.... not neccessary being easy..... depends...

I tracked three identical replica frogs listed on ebay recently. The one with fake WaA stamp was sold $260+, the one with fake 1914 stamp was sold $160+, and the one with no stamp (mine) did not sell.

Alvin, you need to get a set of those repop waffenamp stamps from Sarco or Gun Parts Corp. Apparently everybody needs fake stamps on their fake stuff!
