Curios and Relics License, Imports

I have a C&R license and have read the BATF regs but cannot find info on importation. I have e-mailed them with no success, I think it is their little joke, E-mail us with your questions, as they NEVER respond to anything. Can I submit a Form 6, as a collector and, if aproved, import a firearm? The regs also state that absolutely no military firearms are allowed to be imported, but Lugers are being imported every day. What gives here, I am apparently not reading something correctly or I am a victim of Gov. double speak. I retired from the Army after 22 years and thought that I am fairly up to date on 'double speak' but apparently not. Any enlightment on this will be grreatly appreciated.

Herb:

In California, importing is forbidden period.

Interesting question but I think we can only purchase within the US.

Imports

You have to have an 08 [Importers Lic] to import any MILITARY firearm......period!

Others can do an occassional importation [non-military guns] ..it requires an ATF form 6..and you must comply with any state laws.

Re: Imports

Thanks Orv, that seems reasonable, Why can't ATF just say it in english instead of the doubletalk they use, excepting this, unless otherwise stated in para---? I just want to know, not spend hours trying to understand what they are trying to say by researching every darn sub-section and paragraph for exceptions. Thanks for the info.
