white lettering

im sorry if this has been posted 15 years ago by someone but I didnt see it.

I was wondering what the original manufacturer's used to white the engraving of for example the dwm on the toggle and the serial numbers etc.

I was also wondering if there are modern day products refinishers are using for it becuase I might like to refinish my mismatched commercial for giggles one day.

Hi Skye,

I doubt DWM did anything to "white" their logo on the toggle.

The white that you see in modern photos is from a "Laquer Stick" available at places like Brownell's... It's only a temporary thing, and can be cleaned out of the grooves.

The only white lettering on a Luger that was done by DWM was the safety marking.

White out pen works great and cleans out with any light oil.

It isn't in the white, it is "strawed" (heat colored) and incorrect. Probably indicates that the entire gun has been "enhanced".
