Question about the LP08 Stock fitting to a P08 lug

Is it possible to fit an original or reproduction LP08 artillery stock onto a regular P08's lug? I know they have the same or similar attachment on the frame, mine in question is a 1914 DWM. Thanks!

Yes. It might take some minor fitting, as would any stock to lug interface, (the original stocks were hand fitted to the pistol they went with and number matched to that pistol). The stock lug on your pistol is identical to the one on an Artillery Luger.

That being said, if you are in the US, placing the stock on a 4" barreled pistol would create an unregistered short barreled rifle, which would be illegal to possess.

(ADDED BY ADMIN: "which would be illegal to possess" without pre-paying the $200 tax stamp and receiving approval from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives IN ADVANCE"... then and only then could you legally attach any kind of shoulder stock to a Luger with a barrel of less than 16 inches)

Thank you for clarifying, that was actually going to be my next question (about legality).

I was under the impression no P08 models are exempt... only some commercial and early models.. but not a 1914 DWM military. I read the helpful link from this website about this, it was just sorta confusing at a glance :banghead:
