New to Forum - Pistol ID

6 Attachment(s)
Hello - Glad to find this forum. What a wealth of information. I recently purchased the 1918 DWM pistol below, and would appreciate a little information in IDing it and possibly some information on its potential value. All internal parts appear to have matching "93" numbers. The receiver and barrel are marked 2793i. There is also a stamping on the barrel that says "GERMANY 9mm P-08 INTERARMS ALEX VA" so it appears to have been imported by Interarms at some point. Sorry about the quality of the pictures, but my camera isn't very good at close-ups. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Chris,

Welcome to this forum and to the wonderful world of Lugers. Your Luger seems to be in good shape, although I suspect the magazine has been force-matched. In 1918 they came with wood bottom magazines. Even though the strawing is correct, I think the gun may have been refinished at some stage - but I'll leave it to the experts to decide.

Regards,

Balder

I did not know that Interarms imported pre-1945 Lugers. Maybe somebody knows when they did this.

I think its a vopo, if you pull the magazine out, I bet it is blued and marked 1/2001

I don't think there are all that many post-1945 Lugers around... Apart from a small series made by Mauser in the early 70's - I am the fortunate owner of one of them.

Doubt its a VOPO; it would be all junked up.

The magazine has a "1" stamp, so I would suppose that it has police history.
