1915 DWM Luger

I was wondering if anyone has info on this. I'm looking for value, rarity; anything at all really. It has a matching magazine with the wood grip and a non-matching metal grip magazine. It's in a 1938 holster with the take down tool.

Thank you in advance. I look forward to learning from everyone on this site.

Hi George, Welcome to the forum! I see no issues with the gun and it looks to be in very fine condition. I'd like to see a photo of the magazine base and some more views of the holster before trying to assess value. Regards, Norm

Thank you! The aluminum one does not match, but the wooded one does..

Howdy all. Any other thoughts as to the value? Thank you!

Its preferable to post pictures here (not image sites) and also, pictures that aren't 24 inches across...

Hi,

The pictures look like a 95% 1915 DWM Luger with matching magazine. I should think that that is worth $1800. You haven't posted pictures of the frame grip strap areas, front frame, interior, etc... So, It might not be at that high condition. You also haven't posted pictures of the interior, barrel witness mark area, etc... For an actual estimate, you'd need to look at it in hand. Could be more. Could be less.

The second magazine may be worth another $150.

The SE/63 Loading Tool is probably $75-$100.

The original 1937 Holster is probably $225-$250.

I should think that the rig is $2200 or so.

The condition of the strawed parts is almost too good for a pistol of this age. The marks on many of the strawed parts look like someone had attempted to clean or polish off the normally found darkened spots. It may just be an artifact of the flash, though. That would push down the value some.

Wow! A beauty and a relatively tough date to find. Given that there are no hidden issues not visible in the photos, I agree that the rig is in the $2000+ range.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the knowledge you've shared, and this site is fantastic.

I bought it, and I couldn't resist putting a mag through it. I know, I know; but I've wanted to shoot one since I was a kid.

All parts inside do indeed match. The flash did cause the strawing to appear brighter then it was. The bore is bright and shiny with no erosion present. I even found cosmoline behind the trigger.

Function was flawless with a nice grouping at 21 feet.

My apologies for the photos. I'll stay away from the image hosting next time.

From the info I got, it is a vet bring back, but not a US vet. This is from the Yugoslav theater, Macedonia to be exact. The rig is as it was brought to the US.
