on page 114, under NURENBERG 1ST ISSUE/TYPE 2 ##17732 is listed "17732-Gallo, 02" Does anyone know its significance?:

Cirelaw,
I noticed some on the list seem to be names, so here's my 2 cents. "Gallo" in Spanish means "Rooster." Maybe it could have been someone's nickname. ---Oh, and "EL Gallo" is very common meaning one who is very courageous or valiant.

If you look closely, I think you will see this is a list of reported drums and who owned them when. See Ralph Shattuck just opposite? I surmise that a collector named Gallo reported it to the list in 2002.

Whats really strange is after Ralph on each entry is '86' but there are close to twenty 80s I can't be age!! I know who to ask!!

Kitkat041836 12-08-2011 03:58 PM

I think 80s and 86 means the year they were reported.Like
1980 or 1986.
Thanks George
P.S. Ask George Anderson he knew Ed Sayre The guy that wrote the book.

George Anderson 12-08-2011 04:35 PM

The two digits reference the year in which the serial number was reported to Ed.
