I assume that this is your gun for sale. So let's talk about it. It appears to be a mismatched 1918 DWM, with the wrong era magazine. Overall good shape. How does it function, and what do you think it is worth in today's market?

Hmmm...I wonder what the grip strap stamping means... :D

Nope, it is not mine.

OK, I was misled by the FL location of the gun. What are your thoughts or questions on it?

Just thought I'd pass it along. I like the looks of the Luger, but don't really like shooting them. Therefore, I don't own any or need any. Don't own what I don't shoot.

What don't you like about shooting them?

I have yet to find one with what I consider a really decent trigger pull. I truthfully think they are finely crafted pieces and a work of art to look at. It is just that the triggers leave a lot to be desired. Also I am no real fan of the 9MM round. If I could find one in .45 ACP with a great trigger pull I would be a happy camper.

OK, you got me there. Trigger pulls are usually less than perfect and we are generally stuck with the 9mm. I guess when you are so enamered with their feel, history and craftsmanship you tend to overlook (or tolerate) their shortcomings. Besides, there are enough 1911 clones and Glocks at the range.

I'll confess I am addicted to M1911's. I am down to two of them. One is a M1911 Colt manufactured in 1918 (it is a shooter) and a Gold Cup.
