The Mauser Parabellum by Francis C. Allan

Last July Doug Wonzy made a post that he is looking for this book. I remember he, or someone else, had talked about this book and made me want a copy.

In a letter to NAPCA, dated October 9, 2001 that can be found in the Nov 2001 issue of Automag, Mr Francis Allan mentioned that he might consider republishing it. Here is part of his letter to NAPCA.

" Dear Mr Knox: Some years ago I collected Mauser Parabellum semi-auto pistols and after several years of study published a sixty two-page booklet on this subject. Althou I no longer collect Mauser Parabellums, I do retain the copyright on the booklet. recently I noted one of the one hundred and seventy five copies I had printed for sale on Ebay for over $50 and it sold! I sold them for only $14.95 and can probably have some re-printed and sold for the same price even today"

Mr Allan can be reached at Telephone (306) 445-4225 or email

the_allans_fcla@yahoo.com His snail mail is Francis C. Allan,20 Courtney Place, Palm Coast, FL 32137-8126

I am going to write Mr Allan an email requesting that he republish them again. Does anyone have a copy or can comment on this booklet? Thanks! ~Thor~

Food for thought

I would like to suggest that we add a section on the forum under "Technical Information" or "General Information" entitled "Library" or something.

We could then list "available" and "out-of-print" publications that are recommended for parabellum collectors.

It could contain title, author, publisher, approx cost, and where to obtain a copy. We could add information as it comes available.

We could put pointers to e-mail or WEB links for those books we constantly have to keep listing in the lugerforum for newbies.

I know that DOK is hard pressed to commit time to the forum these days, so I'm making this a suggestion for the "wishlist".

Anyone in favor of the idea, please support it in this thread.

Regards;

Re: Mr Allan has already contacted me.

Seems like the interest has been lackluster to this point. Here is what he said to me.

"Hello Ted;

Thanks for your note. Unfortunately it is only

the third expression of interest. I may go ahead

anyway as time and finances allow. If I proceed I'll

be sure to advertise in the NAPCA newsletter.

Frank Allan"

I sugguest so he can confirm our interest please DROP HIM AN EMAIL so he knows the interest is legitimate! Thanks! ~Thor~ (Ted Green)

Re: The Mauser Parabellum by Francis C. Allan

Sounds like a go on the reprint. Frank emailed me today and said this!

"Thank you very much for your help. I really

appreciate it. I guess I'll go ahead.

Frank"

I am sure the enthusiasm on the forum made this happen! Thanks everybody, especially Doug Wozny (The Wizard of WOZ) for getting the ball rolling! ~Thor~

I e-mailed him and received an e-mail the next day. In that way, he knows I am interested and has my e-mail address and I gave him my house address.
