Value question...
I understand that a picture is worth a thousand words, so I'll get that soon.
In the meantime. I have a 42, 1940 marked luger with all visible numbers matching. Bore is in good shape, though certainly not great. Nazi marks have been ground off. Bluing is otherwise original and shows wear around muzzle and other high points/edges that one would expect. Grips are in great shape. Has an aftermarket magazine. Thoughts on value? Any help would be appreciated... thanks! |
It depends on what "Nazi marks ground off" means. Only photos will help value the gun.

eagles, swatistiaks, etc. Off the barrel and near the serial number.

It sounds like it has been forever relegated to the ranks of a shooter. Consequently, value has gone down to the $600 to $700 range.
But please understand that that is just a WAG without more info./pictures. dju |
I agree with David. Collectors of Third Reich lugers want those markings.

The aftermarket mag knocks another hundred off for me..The bore though certainly not great is another wee problem. $700 would be WAY over valued IMO.
