Need help with grips...hundreds of them
5 Attachment(s)
Just picked these up, over 200 grips....the one photo w/ the little scraps of paper was where I broke them down by serial (at least the ones that did have them), there were more on the left grip marked than the right...I don't know if that is common or just an anomaly. There are a fair amount w/ waffenamts, but the most are probably imperial, many are unmarked. If anyone needs a specific number on a grip feel free to shoot me a PM and I'll see if I have it. Many have little checkering left, some have some pretty big chips out of them, and some are really nice, most of those I have bagged up as pairs (there were many left and right serials that did match-25 pairs or so). Just wondering what the best way is to part with these...as singles, as pairs (mismatched of course-I do have the 25 or so that have matched out, and I'm going to sell those as such when I get to it. Thanks for the advice in advance, Chris...

Just Wait Till Clark see these!

Chris..Nice score! Did you get any with EWB branded in them, large on the outside?
If these were mine I would start sorting them for further charecteristics. WW1, DWM and Erfurt from later Mauser, looking for grip safety types..Dutch types and after that... taking individual grips out that can be salvaged. Complete grips with little problems, like recheckering and need the services of a Pro like Hugh Clark. |
Better words have not been spoken!! Dont break up pair or a few off!

WOW!

#8 is a repo for a grip safety model.

GOOD GAWD!!! WHATTA HAUL!!!
I'm at work now (slow night...) but I'm in need of a set of decent wood grips for my VoPo Luger; a DWM which, based on a serial number search, appears to be an early 1918 civilian (I'm a Luger novice too, so that search may be tinged with wishful thinking). I'll be back in touch in a couple of days. |
