It kindda resembles a 1930's Swiss commercial. Is there a pull up strap and/or a tool pouch?

The holster guys will be along, and they'll know.

Even though someone has stamped "158" into the magazine base, I don't believe it's a period correct magazine for a "G" date.

It also looks like a serial number was partially removed from it.

Something odd has apparently happened with the front left side of the frame at the rails that the receiver rides in. In the sixth picture down (that shows the frame s/n) it looks like the frame has been ground down at an angle. The rail fit also seems to have more gap than normal.

Nice pistol but the magazine is a force matched WW1 model. The numbers on the front of the frame and on the toggle also look suspect. The "5" on the toggle looks like a converted "3" and the front of the frame appears like it was welded up and restamped with mismatched fonts.

I can't comment on the holster.

Your holster appears to be a variation of the WW2 Bulgarian style. I'd be surprised if the grips are original to your G date, as the fine checkering on these ended in 1914 with the introduction of the stock lug frame. TH

I agree with Tom, holster is Bulgarian. Luger appears to have had quite a bit of messing with. Bill

Here's some better pics....I haven't been around a lot of "boosted Lugers" in my travels, so this looked good to me. Obviously the mag being renumbered sticks out like a sore thumb. I posted some more detailed photos, the fonts looked the same to me, so I guess I'm missing something obvious, the front looked like it had just seen some rough travels somewhere, here's some better photos, and I'm open to learning.... Chris.

Worst case, I'm only into maybe 100$ than a shooter mismatch...

The numbers are all looking better, but the front of the frame still appears like it was held in a vice too tighly or something. I don't think it was battered, perhaps just squeezed?

Not as bad as I first thought, but it has been gunsmithed by a monkey. They have dressed the front sides of the frame and trigger guard with a file, probably a round one. Maybe careless handling/shooting buggered up the front edges of the gun?
I'm wondering, per the last photo, if the rear toggle had been buffed and reblued, and also the toggle pin appears to be blued over. In the flesh does the rear toggle match the finish on the rest of the gun?
Anyway, it is what it is, and I which it could talk because it could probably tell some stories.
