Replace the coupling link luger
 
HI
How do you replace the coupling link in a 1940 luger. I do not want to damage the finish. It is a collector luger and i do not want to mark up the bluing

Bob, The pin that holds the connecting link into the rear toggle link often gets bent internally and can be difficult to remove and may require a high pressure arbor press to remove. I would recommend first trying to remove pin with a pointed center punch for best accuracy, while the other side is firmly supported on a machinist block centered on a hole large enough to allow for pin movement. Once the pin moves a bit, switch to a punch of the proper diameter for full removal. TH
