Replace the coupling link luger
HI
How do you replace the coupling link in a 1940 luger. I do not want to damage the finish. It is a collector luger and i do not want to mark up the bluing Thanks Bob |
Bob, The pin that holds the connecting link into the rear toggle link often gets bent internally and can be difficult to remove and may require a high pressure arbor press to remove. I would recommend first trying to remove pin with a pointed center punch for best accuracy, while the other side is firmly supported on a machinist block centered on a hole large enough to allow for pin movement. Once the pin moves a bit, switch to a punch of the proper diameter for full removal. TH
