Blake Steven's New Luger Book?

Has anybody purchased Blake Steven's new three volume book, which covers the Luger pistol?

Is it worth the price of $300+ ?

Yes, and yes. Regards, Norm

It is a treasure of information. Just a heads up...in the Spring there will be a second iteration of this set published by Brad Simpson. Dr. Sturgess did not take kindly to the editorial revisions made by Blake Stevens so he is updating this "authorized" version without some of the extraneous material of the first version and with some expanded and new information that has evolved in the interim. Might be worth the wait.

It has been discussed a lot, but primarily on the Jan Stills forum

Ron, Brad told me that he was working on it, 1200 pages or something like that. A bit surprising that it is coming out so soon, I thought there was a 2 year contract agreement of no new book coming out?

Don't know Ed. I heard that Sturgess and the Gortz estate ended up with all rights to the material in the book.

The editor told me otherwise, but 2 yrs may very well have passed by the time it comes out in print, as the contract date most likely preceded the publish date or something?

Could be. Time flies when you are having fun. :)

Just as an FYI, the full auto Luger prototype featured in the book belongs to a friend of mine. Although I've handled the gun, it was some time ago. I would love to see how it was covered.
