First Luger, I need some help
alright folks, great board by the way. Lots of good info here. What I have here is a DWM luger 9mm. It is all numbers matching minus the magazine. here are some pics, hopefully some of you can give me some insight on this one.

DWM (manufacturer) made likely in 1920 (sometimes the 1920 is not a date), and went to a HZA (depot, probably refurbed) which is a really cool marking.
It has been reblued, as the trigger and safety lever should be strawed / in the white. The rebluing brings the value down to a shooter, so around $600-$700 Ed |
Any Idea on who T B Wells was?
Nice gun. dju |
I do think that the trigger and safety lever have been reblued, probably not the entire pistol though, it is a darker blue job. there is still some straw work noted in the lettering for the safety.
I have no idea whom TB Wells is, I thought it added some neat character to it though |
Nice gun , but I agree that it has been entirely reblued. It is buffed overall and the markings are not crisp.

Hi Kyle,
Welcome to the forum. The lettering on the safety area is originally enamel paint, not strawed, which is a heat treatment. |
Possibly sandblasted, heavily in some areas, then totally reblued. Assume it is 9mm. If .30 caliber, I would knock the value down $100.
