Erfurt and auction question
Looking at a real nice 1918 Erfurt-has Erfurt stamps all over it like most-including ejector--NO markings on firing pin or mag release-they appear to have been on the gun a long time.--Is this right for an Erfurt?
My compatriots on the SF Teamhouse list are discussing this gunbroker item--smells bad-- Item #3034059 Appreciate comments on Erfurt MikeP |
Re: Erfurt and auction question
You did not mention serial number on the firing pin, but both parts in question should be marked with the inspection stamp.

Re: Erfurt and auction question,comment
Mike, the pictures are of a poor quality, no details on the weapon. The tale is interesting, I wonder if it can be authenticated.

auction question
Re: gunbroker #3034059....with the evil [BS] story about 'band of brothers'..
The gun sounds like just another .30 cal. postwar 'Germany' marked 1920 com'l with a story to enhance the value. The letter "don't mean nothin'"......as we used to say in the first platoon of the 712th Engineers ! Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow Knows...! hehehehehehehehehehe |
Re: Erfurt and auction question
There are no marks of any kind on the firing pin or the mag release. Uh-Oh-just took a look with the old loupe--the breech block is cracked-guess this goes back tomorrow.
This is the third mail order piece I have gotten this year from two major players that had things wrong with them. Got a real nice DWM 1918 rig with a beautiful brown holster from out west with two fake magazine bottoms and a renumbered takedown lever plus a fake tool. Bought as original--Also a nice and expensive 1937 S42 rig with touched up finish and a post war xtra mag. Some of these guys will gladly take these back--trick is you have to be able to catch the mistakes--This is dirty pool to me. Got two guns from Tom Heller-no complaints. |
Re: Erfurt and auction question
You get all this crap from these guys, and then you get stuck with all the freight because they lie about the item. Bull!!!
