Auction item up now.....good price w/ repro stock, holster.....it's gotta be a good refinish right? I didnt think the late WWI guns had such smooth finishes

Hi Bob, I don't see any red flags. The small vertical pin in the rear toggle (just visible in the last photo), is properly in the white. I would ask for a photo of the barrel serial number, which should show halos. Regards, Norm

Well, it WAS at a good price...the lurkers and snipers are coming out in the last hour! I'll throw a 1500.00 bid on it and hope!

No grip strap wear..no high point wear..I smell a rat.

ok, a pic for Jerry! Even refinished, I'd want it at 1500-1600 w/ the stock, holster
Bob, How much did it go for?
Jerry, still open for 30min
If it's original blue it's a 99% gun. You just don't see em like that IMO
stock and holster are repro right?
Sold .... 1900.00
Too shiny for my taste. Also, look at the small pits ahead of the "DWM" on the toggle. These would not have been blued as they seem to be. They would have shown up as "freckling". Still, as decent price for a complete shooter rig in that condition.

Yes, The stock and holster are reproductions. Personally i think it went too high. The stock and holster can be had for $129 so you are buying a reblued shooter for around 1800. I have seen original Artillery's going for $2000 in this economy so for not much more you could have a rightious pistol.
I guess it depends on what kind of collector you want to be and what you want it for. |
