Just Received my "New" Artillery from Thor ! !

Just received my refinished 1917 Artillery from Thor's Magic Works. W O W

I had asked Ted to make it look like a factory-fresh, new artillery Luger. I think he succeeded.

We have all seen examples of Ted's work and know that the blue job is outstanding. But, there are other factors. Fortunately for me, this Luger did not have serious corrosion in the areas of the proofs or serial numbers. They are just as crisp now as they were when I sent the Luger out to him. The barrel is absolutely smooth and flawless.

In addition, we discussed leaving some of the machining marks so that the Luger did not look artificially "new."

Ted removed only the worst of the machining marks and left the remainder. The result is that this Luger looks like a genuine factory-fresh unit.

If this Luger had a few wear marks on the high spots one might easily believe it to be a mint artillery. Except . . .that Thor's mark is on the bottom of the stock lug.

This gun is a great shooter, a fact that I verified before having it reblued, and now it is also a real beauty.

I am now looking for a 1914 type Navy which is either mismatched or previously reblued (Don't want to reblue a collectable.) for Ted to refinish. Could use some help with this.

Thanks for another great job, Ted. This is my third one, and they just keep getting better.

Sounds wonderful!

Of course you could make up a Navy? Unless that is what you want, is a real one, but looks sweet?

Yes, that does sound nice!

Ed, you make it sound like finding a Navy Rear Sight

isn't a difficult task. All of the ones I have seen in the last two years have brought more on eBay than some minty collectible Lugers!

What we need is for some quality machine tool company to start making high quality Navy Rear Sights for less than $200

Well, I didn't get a Navy sight on my 6 incher. So, if anyone has an old one laying around...

Send her my way, I'm sure that I can scroung up $20 bucks or so,
