Steyer 12.. in 9mm
1 Attachment(s)
I thought I share my Steyer 12. It is 9mm and marked with a German E/N Stamp. I believe that these were captured by the Army and converted to 9mm by changing the barrel, but the proof mark is commercial, I do not know why. :jumper:

Hello,
I think all german used police-gunīs have a commercial proof. I own also a Steyr12 converted to 9 mm parabellum. My gun has e/l and the same stampīs than your M12 regards Otto |
"I think all german used police-gunīs have a
commercial proof." Thank You, If it was used by the Army, would the proof mark be differnt? Alf. |

Does your M12 not have a e/l on the other side ?
Otto |
Yes it has, it is E/L. I didn't noticed it before.

Then you own a M12 used by the german police !
Thatīs why the re-chambered the gut from 9mm Steyr to 9 mm Parabellum. The triangle right beside the E/N proof is the "Instandsetzungs-Stempel der Steyr Werke", sorry but I do not know the english word for that. Otto |

When I lived in Niagara Falls NY back in the 60's, my local gun shop had one of those in the display case...Maybe not 9mm Parabellum, but a Steyr-Hahn IIRC...Sure looked the same... |
Sarco Brought in hundreds of these from Chile. They all had the Chilean crest on them. Nice shooters.

Hello,
Here is my chile M12. That is a very early type of M12, it says "Steyr 1912 MOD 1911" on the slide. Otto |
When the Sportsmans Guide was selling surplus Chilean Model 1895 Mausers, they showcased and identified this crest as "The famous crest of The Ludwig Lowe Company"
I wondered how a Vicuna and a Condor managed to make it onto a German company's crest.. |
