Lost Friend
 

We had to put our Westie down last night. She was only nine years old. Started having bad seizures and went blind. Only pet lovers will understand but she was family and loved accordingly. I feel sorry for people who do not have this relationship with a pet. They are missing out on one of lifes pleasures. Although it doesn't seen that way right now. She will be missed as long as my wife and I are around. She was a great one. And when this grief fades we will be puppy hunting. Thanks for listening. Bill

Bill, my sincere condolences. This is as hard as losing any loved one...

I understand completely Bill. My puppy (12yrs old, 185lbs.) had cancer real bad and I was forced to put her down. I have missed her everyday since.

A loyal family member is the most difficult to lose. God Bless Bill.

Think of Rainbow Bridge when you think of your Westie. Its hard to lose a beloved friend.

Our sincere condolences. We understand the pain and loss when one of our family has to cross the rainbow bridge. They give us so very much and never ask for anything. We have lost 2 of our Rottys in the past 3 years and one gentle, loving retired horse. We decided no more pals, except our surviving Rotty boy was so alone. Und zo, we kept looking and our neighbor farm had us over for lunch one Saturday to meet their new mutt. A Schwartz Golden Doodel. Three hours later we had his brother home with us. We have had Rottys for years and love them, gentle, loving giants. I have to tell you we have never, ever been so in love with a mutt as we are with our "Bones". That is not his "paper" name, but rather each of the 6 pups in the litter had little collars on with designs, our guy had bones.

Our 7 year old Rotty boy and our 7 month old Doodle are inseparable and such giving companions. A new one can never replace the ones that have gone. But a new pal does have a way of becoming a part of the family and creating a new soft spot in our heart.

We feel and know you loss. Yes, we have been graced to have received the love and devotion of a pal. I'll never understand how anyone cannot appreciate the giving of a pet.

Bill & Mary..How sad I am to hear you have lost a beloved Friend! Yes..your memory will last for a lifetime..you will never forget a Friend who loved you like she did. You can be thankful she was with you for 9 years...No love can match that of a dear pet. I would say that time will help heal the loss but as I write.. I remember my own dear Friend of 16 years, Onya... and my throat is tight. I lost her 16 years ago and cannot think of her without emotion. Now you know what true love is...these animals give more than they take and remind us to be kind and loving by example. They shelter us and give us comfort..letting us see a pure and simple World rather than the one we really live in. We love them and need them and can only be sad when we lose them.

Too bad buddy, my wife and I have two little dogs and we're dreading what you and your wife are going through right now. Just remember all dogs go to heaven !!

9 years is way too short, I am sorry for your loss

we lost a love-of-our-lives very intelligent pet poodle also at nine years
and later lost her buddy a precious half-lab at age 20 years

it helps me to think of the fun times we did have, and that the pets would not want us to feel down in any way about them

Bill, so sorry! I know just how tough it is. I lost a Yellow Lab & Siberian Husky in my lifetime. They were both my really good friends.

Bill, I've lost three of my dogs through the mercy of this gift we can give them. My heart is with you.

Your friend had 9 wonderful years with her loving family.

I can't re-live my beloved Irish Setters here, but I feel the pain and know the love of dogs present and gone......I do feel your pain......

Consolations, Bill...I know...having a good dog for a friend is such a dilemma....you know that most likely they will pass away before you, but you cherish them and enjoy their short life, knowing you'll grieve for them one day. Take solace in knowing you were a good Master, and she had a fine life. Bob

My condolences! I've been through that to many times! We had to put down our Shepperd mix about a year and a half ago. She was 16 years old!

My wife told me NO MORE DOGS!!!! Two months later we have a new puppy from a rescue shelter.

I have never been without a dog my entire life! Here's a pic of our new pup back in January

Missing little loved ones
 

Hi Bill.......Sorry for your loss.....a couple of months ago...we lost our little Mattie...a 12 year old chihuahua....so precious...slept on the foot of my bed every nite...and snored like a trooper...!!...we used to laugh at how such a small dog could snore so loud........recently we found another little chihuahua..1 year old.....little brown and white...she weighs only 5 1/2 #s......but she had been mistreated....so we rescued her.......now she is a true spoiled little queen...has her own bed on the back of the couch....full food and water dish......and follows me everywhere......little pets know who loves them........and it warms my heart to know that little animals love me......we also have a little Yorkie....shes 10 years old....have had her for about 8 years....and she had been mistreated as well...another rescue........Im retired...and when Im in the house.....its like Im the pied piper...wherever I go.....theres those two little ones right behind me.....you get to love them.......so I know your loss...........Best Wishes....Joe Fischer
