Gentlemen,
Since I bought my first Auto Mag decades ago, I always wondered why no one built a Carbine in the .44AMP and .357AMP cartridge. A little over a year ago, I mentioned on the Auto Mag web site that I would love an Auto Mag Carbine. Well, Max Gera contacted me and said he would build one.

The realization that my Carbine would be built by the man who designed the first Auto Mag 40 years ago was an opportunity I couldn't pass up. I sold a few firearms and went without luxury items until paid in full.

Being a regular Joe Shmo, never in my wildest dream did I think this would ever be built. I can never thank Max enough for making a decades old dream come true.

I am deeply honored and priviledged to not only own this Carbine but, the first one of its kind as well. My firearm collection is small. This Carbine is by far the most valued.

Target at 50yrd. Now it's time to get ready for them hogs. Bacon anyone???

Fantastic! As a fan and casual collector of stocked-pistols, I must say congratulations on a beautiful piece! You were wise to take advantage of the opportunity to have it built when you could. Well done!

What makes this special is that the stock lug is not welded to the lower pistol grip. It can be changed back to a standard Auto Mag by removing the lug attachment and sliding off the barrel. The front extention for the handguard is secured by using an extended takedown lever. He did a marvelous job designing it.

I was going to ask if the stock was removable. . . I know virtually nothing about Auto Mags, but I sure like the look of yours. I'd love a Ruger .22 automatic done up in the same carbine fashion--

I bought an unused new .44AMP North Hollywood barreled receiver. Max cut the barrel off and removed the welded area. The 16.5" barrel is screwed into the receiver. Max isn't a fan of welding.
Now I'm looking for a .357AMP North Hollywood barreled receiver and an extra one for the .475 Wildey that Max wants to build.
I hope to have a complete set (.44,.357,.475).

Congrats on this fine looking piece. You should, indeed, be proud to own something like that. That length of bbl. gives the 44Mag. bullet a bit more time to gain speed, and it should make a great hog gun!!
