Rear Toggle Pin.

In a thread not long ago, it was mentioned that the pin of the rear Toggle should be in the white.
Does this apply to all Lugers, especially to the 1940,1941 and 1942 lugers that were salt blued instead of rust blue? Alf. |
Hi Alfred, The small vertical rear toggle pins in Mauser Lugers, both in the early rust blue and later salt blued guns, are blue. These pins on Imperial Lugers should properly be "in the white". Regards, Norm

Thanks Norme, I have a couple of Lugers that have a bit of rubbing on the left of the joint where the pin is.
It seems that the left side of the joint is rubbing with the extra magazine in the holster when putting the pistol inside the holster. Is it a common holster wear like the sidplate? Alf. |

Hi Alf, Your "tight holster theory" is probably correct, one usually sees some wear on the toggle tops, as in the photo. Regards, Norm

Thank You Norme,
Holster wear does not bother me much, is part of the gun history. Alf. |
