1906 DWM Commercial 9mm Luger
10 Attachment(s)
This is an example of the 1906 DWM Commercial Luger with the 100mm barrel in caliber 9mm. It has commercial German "B U G" proofing, and was proofed before 1912, as evidenced by the caliber being denoted under the old plug gauge system (118.35 gauge) that was discontinued in 1912. There are no import marks, so this particular example was not manufactured for sale in the U.S. And of course, the "B U G" proofing would indicate it was manufactured for sale in Germany or Europe. I suspect this was sold in Germany and came to the U.S. as war booty in 1945. This is an uncommon configuration in the U.S. It is detailed on pages 98-99 of Lugers at Random.

another treasure, Curl! but I'm dying to see that new- in- the box 1920's commercial!
|
Well, it's only half a box. The bottom half, with compartments. Wonder if anybody has ever seen the box top?
Thanks, Curl |

One more photo. I just realized I failed to post the obligatory shot of the left side of the pistol with the safety lever in the "Safe" position.
