Proclaiming the regular police and the Security police in support of the war effort. are these uniforms correct for any of the units you have studied ? |
They are not wearing uniforms but overcoats. The regular police is represented in the front and the security police, (SD) is in the back. There is some artistic license taken in details such as the belt buckles and the "SS" runes on the wrong side of the helmet, for example. The NCO rank insignia shoulder boards on the front uniform and collar tabs on the SD uniform, although vague, represent more or less the look of each service's uniforms. The police dagger is pretty close as well.

a patriotic picture I would guess, artistic license.
But there are a couple of books on uniforms, and I know pre-WW2 better, but we are focusing on the luger itself. |
The shape of the police helmets is consistent with examples shown on several internet sites...(Not the same shape as military helmets)...
