Commercial DWM Date and Value?
 

Hello.
I was curious if anyone can tell what when and where this pistol was made. Also it's general value.
Here's what I know:

It is stamped DWM on the top strap of the toggle.
It is 7.65mm caliber.
It has the nitro stamp, a crown with an N underneath it (Located on the underside of the base of the barrel).
It's serial is 1844 with a fractur (Cursive) o underneath it.
It also is stamped GERMANY on the front-underside of the receiver.

It is in fair/good shape with some minor pitting.
It does have the stock magazine with the wood bottom.

I am guessing it was made in the 20's for an English market, from possibly a WWI 9mm p-08 rechambered in 7.65mm?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That's an odd caliber for a Luger...

Richard, 1920's Alphabet Luger. There are some who have access to actual dates these were made from the suffix, perhaps they will come along and answer your question specifically.

Your pistol is just what you believe it to be except for the chambering. it is undoubtably in .30 Luger as most commercial Lugers were. Condition of the finish is somewhat drab...It is in a shooter catagory so I would value it at $450-600 depending on all matching numbers and does it actually shoot properly.

It is indeed a 30 caliber, I mistyped it in my first thread.
And unfortunately, it is in not great shape.
It looks to be, however, a numbers-matching gun, as it is stamped 44 (Last two digits of the serial #) on many visible parts on the gun.

Shoot!!! :mad: I was hoping it was the rare & elusive 25ACP Luger with the staggered row hi-cap magazine... :(

- The obvious answer is in the factory of "DEUTSCHE WAFFEN und MUNTIONSFABRIKEN (DWM)"
- The more enhanced answer is at the DWM Wittenau building on Eichborndamm street in Berlin.
* Appears this pistol was re-blued sometime in its history; but, the 7.65mm Parabellum is a sweet shooting pistol IMHO.
