byf Magazine. What type?
I have a byf 41 (no suffix). I need a correct maqazine (or two). Someone mentioned that the nonsuffixed guns were late. Do you all concure? Did the nonsuffixed guns come after all the suffixed ones? Seems backwards to me...
Which would be most correct? Black bakalite or aluminum bottoms? Are they both marked "37" and fxo? Thanks to all of you for answering! |

Hi Steven, An fxo mag, like the one shown, would be correct. Either with an aluminum base, numbered to the gun, or with an un-numbered black bakelite base. Regards, Norm

Steven, an un-numbered aluminum base fxo is also correct for your no suffix 41 byf.
Mauser began serial numbers in 1934 with 1 no suffix (NS). At S/N 9999, they began 1a S/N and continued through the alphabet, skipping the letter "J". In late 1937, after 9999z, they started over with 1 NS. In early 1940, they started over again, then finally near the end of the 1941 production the started over again. Hope this helps. :) |
That's exactly the info I wanted!
Thanks all!! |
