byf Magazines. What Kind?
What does a correct magazine look like for my byf 41? How about the disassembly tool?
|
hyrax,
Luger magazines went through some changes as 1941 progressed. What is the letter suffix below the serial number on the front of your gun? Tom |
1941 byf PO8 would usually been issued with one serialized alum bottomed FXO marked mag and a second FXO with an unnumbered alum or black plstic bottom. The ideal tool should have the same WaA inspector's number (E/655 or 135) that is on the right side of it's receiver. TH

No letter suffix seen below serial no.
Present mag is silver colored with wood bottom. No marks that I can see. What is it? |
If your 41 byf gun does not have a letter suffix than a fxo black plastic or fxo unmarked aluminum bottom would be correct as your luger is late 1941.
I don't know about your wood mag. |
Well, the guy I bought it from had a 1918 Erfurt too. It had an aluminum bottom mag in it. I think he got them mixed up!I wonder if he'll swap them?
|
Hyrax, Difficult to say without seeing your mag, as there are similar new repro mags of that type available, but if original, it's probably a DWM commerical mag. TH
