Germany stamped magazine bottoms....

The magazine on the left is an original magazine with a repo wood bottom, the one on the right I believe is all original. Can anyone verify that for me.

Thanks,
Harry

Harry, It certainly looks good. The letter font and angled placement looks good. I am always leery of lettering that is too straight.
Notice the blued pin on the original..looks unmolested. The reproduction has been in and out maybe several times. The hole is worn.
I always take a close look at the angle of the circle on the knobs. If it's rounded in a nice curve or too sharp. I try to look at the whole magazine not just a part of it.
Whoever did the repro did an excellent job on the wooden knob. Nice shape. Looks like a Gerald Tomek.
Maybe it's the light but the original? looks a weird color & texture to me..

Thanks Jerry, you are correct, the magazine on the left has a G.T repo base, installed by George Fortier. I bought the (orginal) from one of the fellas here, that is a dealer with a good rep.

Thanks,
Harry
