Unknown date DWM
I will be posting more info as I get it. These first two pictures are poor quality but higher resolution ones will be coming. I don't have the pistol in my hand but I am trying to get the person who does to give me more info. What I know is it is a DWM gun in 7.65 with 1949 in the serial number spot(front of frame), barrel also says 1949, has "N with a crown above it" on the barrel as well, says Germany under the 1949 number on the frame with a cursive letter under germany. Can't figure out what letter it is. Has magizine with it and the magizine has a wodden bottom.
Any info you can give me so far about the gun? http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...3/IMG_3487.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...3/IMG_5509.jpg |
Hi Mike,
Welcome to the forum. The Luger is an Alphabet DWM Commercial (formerly 1920 commercial). The suffix below the serial number is an 'o'. It is part of the serial number. #1949o was made in the latter part of 1925. |
Thanks for the info. Any general idea of value?

The last two digits of the serial # 49 should be on the trigger, takedown lever, sideplate and rear toggle. If all matching and original finish (it looks original in the photos), $750 - $950 range.
