It's amazing to me how something this old could have been kept in such amazing condition. You would have to believe it's been through at least two generations. Let's see, original price: $35.00............. What did gold sell for then?

That gun came up out of South America in 2008. Horst Held had it for a while earlier this year for $20K. There was some speculation that it had been restored but may be original. The bore is not as pristine as the exterior which raised the question of restoration. Both prices are reasonable for a gun that pristine. The fact that it is changing hands so quickly may be a further indication that it is restored.

Ron, I have started keeping better records of simson's, as it is nice to see if a particular gun was at RIA 13 months ago, at a dealer a month ago...

There are a pair of Simson's on gunsamerica that 1 month ago or so were on Checkpoint charlies :)
