Are there other types of carbine tangs??? Were these 'custom' conversions, with a variety of different tangs???
I've already see several different forends [wood]...
Was there a master pattern??? More than one manufacturer/shop making them???

Authentic 1902 carbines are all pretty much the same, if not all the same. 1920 and after carbines are a strange animal, I've never seen two the same and I have been to one end of the internet and back doing research, anybody and everybody would make you one. I talked to the historian at a large gun dealer and he is researching A&F guns, but his A&F records only go back to 1928, so he was no help to me. In my opinion, they are not fakes to decieve, they are what they are, only buy the gun in front of you and not the story. There is no source of info or documentation on them, no books devoted to them. From all I can tell, they were all put together from different parts of difference guns. Some of the prettiest ones, John Martz made. I have no idea where mine came from for sure, but the barrell is stamped A&F and I can live with that.
