reload: carbine loads?

Twenty plus years ago, I acquired a Carbine of some type, no grip safety. I bought some ancient looking .30 Luger rounds at a gun show shortly thereafter. Back then I lived in the middle of a 400+ cattle ranch and could go out and shoot all day without bothering anyone. I took my gun out loaded a clip and commenced firing! The gun shot beautifully, but, there must be something wrong, I had to work the toggle by hand each time to extract the shell. I cleaned the gun put it away and haven't fired it since. Not until today, reading here.....May 2011....did I realize there were special rounds for the Carbine. I saw, in another post, an old box marked ",35g Pulver", No 471. Not sure what exactly that meant......i.e., ,35g? So, the question: anyone loading for a Carbine? Recommendations?

Bill, I have been meaning to load for my carbine..Just have not got around to it. I planned to take a .30 Luger load and work my way up to properly cycle it. Mine acts just as yours does..shoots fine, just won't extract and strip another cartridge into the chamber.
Carefully adding to a book loading for a .30 Luger should do it.
