A spare parts question
How do you tell what manufacture made a certain part? Through my travels in Germany I am starting to get a spare parts collection going. Other than looking at the font style on the parts is there any way to tell the difference between say a DWM side plate and one made by Kreighoff or Erfurt?
As my parts collection progresses, I may try to make a Frankenstein Luger where no number matches another. |
Yes, but I have mastered it. You have to have an eye for that sort of thing.
When a person like Ron or Dwight shows me side-by-side pictures, then I see the differences, but most of the time, it just eludes me. I will be in the Benelux area and also Germany 13-27 June / with my wife and visiting old friends (I lived there for 7 yrs while in the army). Ed |
My eyes are not trained enough to spot the manufacture.. But if some of the parts have 42 stamped on the correct location, it could be a Mauser spare part.
