How do you remove the follower button?
Just bought my first P08, an all matching Simson VOPO from about 1930. It is in very good shape, however the magazine follower snags on something about half way down the magazine which causes stovepiping if I load more then3 cartridges into the magazine. I do not believe it is a spring problem. I can feel the follower snag when the spring is removed. I have disassembled the magazine and cannot see anything obviously wrong. I cannot figure out how to take the follower out. Can someone tell me how to remove the follower button? Does it screw out, is it pressed in?

Hi
try search popdown on the top forum bar , search for "magazine disassembly" look for posts by member G.T. - who is the luger magazine wizard sounds like you may have found a bargain collectible vopo Bill |
The button is pressed in and staked through the small hole in the side of the magazine near the bottom. Removal and replacement can result in deforming the magazine if you do not have the proper jig or provide adequate support to the magazine for removal/installation. As recommended, G.T. is the go-to guy.

Thanks for the advise
