Mostly slick-backs, all but two are unit marked. Unit types are 10 cavalry, 5 machine gun, 5 infantry, 2 artillery, 1 medic, 1 pioneer, 1 telephone, 1 colonial, and 2 marked to individuals.

Very nice!

George,
How are the individual pistols marked? Was there a regulation or was it up to the officer as his own purchase to place his name anywhere on the pistol?

George
Outstanding collection of 30 Imperial Lugers with 28 unit marked!
Jan
Details of year, mfg., sn and unit mark would be most appreciated.

George, how many of these wonderful pistols have matching magazines?

George Anderson 04-21-2011 11:03 PM

David, ten have matchng mags; two of those, a 1908 and a 1910, have two matching mags. I actually have a 1915 now with two matching mags and a beautiful holster but it's not part of the collection and is for sale because it is not unit marked. I focus on unit marked P08's.

With LP08's I go first for full rigs and second for unit marks. Unit marked LP08's are much more difficult to find than P08's.

For any members interested in Imperial Lugers I have about a dozen now that I am selling for a friend, about half are unit marked. Should you want a list of what I have you can email me at keoki77@earthlink.net.

Hey Bud,

Y'all got those adoption papers made out yet? I hope you spelled my middle name right.

nukem556 04-26-2011 08:52 PM

hmmmm...isn't the leftmost pistol in the bottom row a 1900?

Good eyes! Want to take a stab at what it is?

DavidJayUden 04-27-2011 12:07 AM

Looks like a 9mm, not a sissy .30. And I'm not seeing DWM on the toggle. Does that get us any closer?

Me thinks it's a 1902 German test.

Ron Wood 04-27-2011 02:31 AM

Me thinks you thinks correctly. I am completely eaten up with envy over that one.

George Anderson 04-27-2011 09:33 AM

I will post the 1902 in detail seperately in the coming days.

Wouaaaah Georges !!!!! very nice set

I see that Doughboys left " Mademoiselle's" tears behind and took main things back.....good blued prussian steel.....maybe somme VSOP bottles ( Volstead Act wasn't yet  approved by Senate ) ...

Our swiss Gran father's remained monthes on the Border but didn't have the same opportunities.....but took care of their 1906 DWM's....... what we now get instead of Imperials....
