Simpson Ltd. artillery

This showed up last week at Simpson's online http://www.simpsonltd.com/product_in...71e3865afc26c4
How fair a price is this?

A refinish with a mismatched sideplate is pushing the limits at $1,500. I would be more comfortable at $1,100-$1,200, since it is an Artie.

+ 1

BTW: Simpson's will entertain offers...they may not accept, but they will tell you so...(Unlike some places that ignore offers)...

Thanks, I did read in the forum that Simspson's prices run about $300 high, and this est. is consistent with that.
Didn't know about their entertaining offers, so this is good to know. I think I got a guy to lower his price on Gunsamerica last week. As I recall, he was selling a pretty rough shooter for $1500. I sent him a link to a MUCH better specimen on the same site, and next time I looked, the price had dropped by 1/3--but still a couple hundred high for what it was. I guess this reinforces the old adage that it never hurts to ask!
So, the search continues for a nice first shooter for me...

Interesting comment on numerical prefix on their item listings... ;)
