Sweetheart Grips

4 Attachment(s)
I just bought this sweetheart grip on Ebay. I'm really impressed by how well it was carved, and just couldn't resist trying it on my Luger! Recently I fitted new wood grips, and even with the help of a Dremel it was very time consuming. How someone hand carved these two pieces of plexiglass to fit so well and hold the picture amazes me.
Unfortunately the seller didn't have any history with it, but if taken at face value, it sure has been around.
I would appreciate any thoughts or opinions on it, and would like to see pictures of any similar grips.
Thanks,
Marc

yes, I like them, have had a couple of them for other guns than lugers (the grips are harder to make compared to say a Radom or 1911...

Congrats on the nice grips.
I was bidding on them as well.:surr:
They are the first grips I have seen that have a separate piece to insure the picture was not damaged by the magazine follower.
Good design.
I have a nickle-plated 1918 DMW WW2 "bring-back" that I am looking for nice set of Plexiglas "sweetheart" grips for.
Didn't see any at the Reno show.

Thanks, I think I was more exited about getting the grip than I was when I got the Luger (no offense anyone). I am fascinated by the story it tells. I've been looking up places listed on it and learning alot of WW2 history in the process. Many of them fit within the Tunisia campaign.
I consider myself very fortunate to have them.

Very nice. I love it. Another one (not as cool as yours) has been on Gunbroker for close to a year as the seller doesn't put "Luger" in the title and may have a high reserve:

I wanted a nice way to show people this grip without having to let them handle a gun, and I was afraid of damaging it loose. My first thought was to modify the cast aluminum luger in the first picture, but then I decided better of that and made the simple wood gun in the second picture. What do you think?

A simple solution...Better/cheaper than my idea, which was to buy a cheap AirSoft Luger off ebay...
