Need Help - Identify and Valu DWM 1918
 

Please help me I am very new to guns. I can tell you that all numbers match but the cartridge has no number. The numeratios is 3 numbers an the letter "n"... is it military? It has no special marks. Only DMW logo and 1918. What else can you tell about it? Value? Thank you.

Right now, I can see that it is a 1918 (yr made) DWM (maker) and its military.

Pictures and full serial number would be good.

Curious that there are absolutely no proofs on the right receiver. It does not appear to have been scrubbed from the photo.

Please post sharp focus photographs of both sides, the front of the frame above the trigger guard, the bottom of the barrel, and any other areas where there are stamps or markings, and we will be glad to assist you in the approximate value and history of your Luger.

Knowing your geographical area is also important to what the value may be, especially if you are outside the USA.

Hi Juan, Welcome to the forum. Your 1918 DWM is military, but unfortunately it has been refinished. The small parts, that should be a light straw color, are now a dark blue like the rest of the gun. In this country this Luger would be considered a "shooter" and would be worth $500.00 to $700.00. Regards, Norm

It is sad that the "El Ciervo" gunshop in Buenos Aires closed. Possibly the largest collection of rare Lugers on daily public display anywhere in the world. The two 15 foot long front windows displayed somewhere around 300-400 rare Lugers in the shop's heyday.

I wonder where that collection is now?

More Photos. This are all the marks. In the piece tha locks the barrel it seems like the "79" is eresed. All military luger has proofs? Regards.

Your sideplate and takedown lever appear to be home made, not from the factory. That or they have been repaired/modified.
No proofs on the right receiver appear to indicate that this was "scrubbed" or removed. Aother possibility is a "lunch box special", where a worker removed the gun from the factory prior to inspection steps. This is unlikely as the main parts of the gun all match.

You have a nice, and presumably functional "shooter" Value here in the US, $500-$700, depending on the location of the sale.
