Interarms Mauser

Hey Guys....Hans Fischer here in Tennessee.....Im seriously considering picking up an Interarms Mauser with 6" barrel tomorrow...hope to get out and look at it......does anyone know if they lock open after the last shot as the older lugers do..??....and Im still wondering about the "Swiss Style Frame".....would like to hear from anyone that has bought one....their opinion on it.....as to comfort ...shooting ..etc...and does it really make that big a difference from the "German Style" frame.........I appreciate anyone taking the time to post a note......Thanks.....Hans...

I bought one a few years ago, NIB, but as a shooter. The P.08 frame. First thing was the sights were way off. Corrected that, then the 'modern' grips were uncomfortable. A very sharp trapezoidal cross section. I had those smoothed out by a Forum member. The 6" barrel is a delight to shoot! I also have a Swiss 1929. On the firing line my hand doesn't notice the difference in the frames. The P.08 seems to be preferred by most collectors.

Yes it does lock open on the last shot, but it depends a lot on the magazine. One MeGar mag doesn't do it, one old type 2 Army doesn't either, but most do. I did have the original mag springs replaced with slightly softer ones. Some of the factory springs are too stiff. I was getting stove pipe jams on loading. The mag bases aren't that strong either. I broke one. Again a forum member came to my rescue and made me some AL bases. Classy!

"Uncomfortable" is a gross understatement about the modern grips. but they can be nicely refined by Hugh Clark. I also bought a set of plastic grips from Vintage Gun Grips. I had to do a little modification to make them fit onto the frame, and they still need some work to conform to the frame's contours. Mine is in .30 Luger with a 6" bbl. Shoots nicely, works reliably (if you don't try to run it dry) and the hold open works every time with the stock magazines. Gun broker has a 9mm 4" Interarms running now. Last I looked it was at $855.00.

I paid $950 from mine. The box was in very nice shape and the gun looked unfired, or at least well cared for.

Hello Hans

I have a 9mm 4 inch Swiss model and have shot it a fair amount. I bought it new in the box.
Mine works very well with any FMJ 9mm ammo and the original mags. None of my mags have broken yet. Mine has issues with any hollow point ammo, however.
The grip is uncomfortable on the Swiss frame with the original sharply checkered grips.

I shoot my gun with a thin leather driving glove on,comfy, functions fine and the peanut gallery at the range get a charge out it.

Tom, et al,

Hugh fixed my grips. A beautiful job! And GT is the mag master. He did the aluminum bases for me and was able to number them to the gun. Wonderful!

If you need any spares, Tom H. 'Lugerdoc' has parts.

Doug? Where in WNY? I was born and raised in Jamestown.

FN-Close to Buffalo...but not too close, I don't want to get run over by all the people fleeing Buffalo and Erie County.

Doug
