I just bought my first VoPo Luger and I'm really impressed. Workmanship is outstanding and it is all matching, including the magazine (thanks to the Russians). It has an S/42 toggle link and a 1940 chamber date. A Code 42 would have been nicer, but what can you expect when all the parts are tossed into an arsenal basket and grabbed at random. However, some care must have been given to this pistol because everything fits snugly. All of my Lugers are shooters and I can't wait to get this one to the range and make some bang-bang.

Hi, judging from the VoPo's I've seen, they mostly tried to keep parts matching, but when something needed replacing, they used parts from cannibalized pistols. The frame serial number was normally kept as the main serial number on receiver and magazine. They didn't car much for force-matching other (2-digit) replacement parts, they just struck an X through the number, with some exceptions.

How about some photos? I love a VOPO.

I would gladly love to post pictures, but my camera skills suck, and I've never been able to master the technique of posting pictures on the forum. I'll keep trying.

I just put all my internet pics on Photobucket. From there it is easy to post them on all the websites I frequent.

I took my newly acquired VoPo to the range this morning. Not a single malfunction; right on target; color me VoPo.

Ron, It was Tom Armstrong's and now belongs to another forum member so I will allow him to present, explain and comment on this gun in the future. It is probably one of the very last government contracted P08's ever.
