Pressure test Mauser
In case anyone's interested, Jerkson...umm I mean "Jackson" Armory is selling what they claim is one of only two pressure test Lugers known to exist...it's up on Gunbroker for 12K

What a load of belony in that auction, lol.
These pistols were most likely made up from available parts as practice pistols for the shooters at the factory who were responsible for test firing the military contract pistols. They were given a reward for each pistol that succesfully passed the test the first time. It meant that they had to practice a lot to keep their skills up. That also explains the Üb on the receiver: Übung = Practice. At least our experts of the 1970s had imagination, you have to give them that. |
The grips look to be poor quality repros, that have been amiturishly "decorated" to match the markings on the gun.
