Hello to all,
I am a new member to this forum. I have just bought back a 1918 DWM luger that has been in my family for over 50 years. I am not sure how my uncle got it as anyone who was around at the time is now gone. I have the "bring back " paper, and it is a numbers matching gun except the clip. The holster is incorrect, I was told possibly for a P38. I would like to find a dated holster, but they seem very expensive. Is the expense of a dated holster worth it, or would a reproduction be fine? Any comments? Thanks Bob |

I plan on keeping this as part of the family, now that its back. Would like to shoot it sometime. I have attatched a couple of pics of the luger, and one of the holster that has been with it all these years. Can anyone identify the holster?

I'm not a holster guy, but from the metal work, it looks like a Bulgarian holster.

You're right , holster is wrong. If your luger is all matching numbers, think twice about shooting it. If you should brake a firing pin of some other numbered part, you will have a difficult time relpacing it. If you want a shooter, find one for 600 bucks and don't mess up your bring back, just my two cents.

Has an FN Browning type closure..For a thin barrel. Don't have time to look tonight..

Well, in many regards, I would keep the holster it has been with it for so many years (not storing it in the holster, that can be bad).
I personally dislike repro tools, repro holsters etc, they don't add value, look cheap and fit tighter than original ones I am sure. Ed |
Thanks for the replies. Does my holster have any value, as it needs some work. My luger fits too tight down at the end, and that is why you see the threads opened up, as it is made for something else. As far as the luger itself, is this a common one? The proof marks match the ones listed as # 15 on the list in the Technical Information section.
