1954 Congressional shooting

A few days ago was the anniveresary of the congressional shooting by a radical Puerto Rican group in 1954. The pic in the local paper showed what looked like Lugers and p38.

I found this on a google search.Near the end of this vid it looks like 3 Lugers an Arty and p38

yes, I read this a few years ago when I did some kind of search on the net, might be able to do a search here on the forum. There was also a case of the White House being shot at and rushed by extremists, but I think that was a 38 Special.

I guess surplus guns were still cheaper than "modern" guns back in 1954!!

Nope, Ed...the guns used in the Blair House attack (Truman was staying there while the WH was being renovated), were also a Luger and a P38! (the Puerto Ricans must have had a nice German stash!) There is an excellent book on the event by Stephen Hunter, entitled "American Gunfight"

Back years ago they had one of the Puerto Ricans P-38s on display at the Pink Palace museum in Memphis Tenn.
